Visit one of our branches for engaging and playful events for children.

Early Out Hang Out – Warrensburg
If there is an early out on Wednesday, we’re hanging out at the library. Play the latest game consoles like the Nintendo Switch, or go retro with Super Nintendo. Most importantly, you can hang out with friends and have fun.

Wickedly Weird Science Early Out – Knob Noster
Creep on in for another frighteningly fun time at our October Weird Science program. We will attempt to make ghost bubbles this month!

Kids In The Kitchen – Lexington
Kids in the Kitchen is a free program presented by MU Extension that encourages youth, 9-12, to eat healthier meals and snacks as a result of hands-on cooking experiences. The participants will learn how to prepare simple, healthy foods that they can make for themselves and for other family members at home. They will also learn good food safety practices.

Microsoft Word: Basics–Continuing Education Class – Warrensburg
This class will cover setting up new documents, using templates, selecting fonts/justifications, page layout, saving, and printing Word documents. Group activities and lessons will help familiarize participants with the application’s tools. The library will provide six devices. If you have Microsoft Word downloaded, feel free to bring your own device.

Nerd-Out Early-Out – Knob Noster
Are you a nerd and proud of it? Well then, join us and get your nerd on! We are starting groups for Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Magic and more! Beginners welcome! Snacks included!

Get Spooky – Lexington
Create a ghoulish ghost with us for your Halloween fun. We will have a snack, a game and a story, of course.

Learn to Draw Scary Stuff – Warrensburg
In keeping with the Halloween theme, we will learn to draw scary stuff! Children and adults who love to draw, experiment, and imagine menacing monsters will marvel at their creepy creations. Our truly terrifying compositions will include bats, cats, zombies, spiders, snakes, skulls, and dragons. Younger children are welcome to stop in and color with a parent.

Fear Factor is Back – Knob Noster
Are you brave enough to attend our Fear Factor program? There will be gross eating challenges, nerve-wracking social challenges and games, and lots of hilarious fun! Come to play, come to watch! But don’t miss it!

Spooktacular Snacks and Games – Odessa
Kids, 9-12, come join us for a spooktacular good time in making creepy-crawly snacks and playing fun games.

Duck Tape Creations – Odessa
Oh, the wonderful world of Duck Tape! Kids, 5-8, join in the fun of creating colorful designs that you can use every day using ordinary duct tape.

Trick or Treat – Concordia
Once again, we will participate in the Chamber of Commerce Downtown Trick or Treat event. We will be handing out candy and bookmarks!
