October Teen Events

Whatever your interests, the library is the place to be for teens this month.

Early Out Hang Out – Warrensburg
If there is an early out on Wednesday, we’re hanging out at the library. Play the latest game consoles like the Nintendo Switch, or go retro with Super Nintendo. Most importantly, you can hang out with friends and have fun.

TAG (Teen Advisory Group) – Odessa
Teens, we need your spark of imagination! Help us make your programs exciting by sharing your ideas. Teens in Honor Society or another organization looking for community service hours? Here is a fun and fulfilling way to earn them.
Age: Teen

Microsoft Word: Basics–Continuing Education Class – Warrensburg
This class will cover setting up new documents, using templates, selecting fonts/justifications, page layout, saving, and printing Word documents. Group activities and lessons will help familiarize participants with the application’s tools. The library will provide six devices. If you have Microsoft Word downloaded, feel free to bring your own device.

Nerd-Out Early-Out – Knob Noster
Are you a nerd and proud of it? Well then, join us and get your nerd on! We are starting groups for Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Magic and more! Beginners welcome! Snacks included!
Age: 11 years old and up
Wednesday, October 9 – 3:00 p.m.

Tulle Time – Lexington
Weave tulle into a fun wreath for the spirit of the season!  Bring a friend to double the fun. Snacks provided.
Age: Teen
Thursday, October 10 – 3:30 p.m.

Decorative Sweater Pumpkins – Warrensburg
Get in the spirit of the season with this fun fall decor craft. You will learn how to create an adorable pumpkin from repurposed sweaters. The sweater material will be provided, or feel free to bring the fabric of your choice. Participants will need to bring at least one full roll of toilet paper per pumpkin, with a maximum of three.

Monday, October 14 – 3:30 p.m.

Microsoft Word: Intermediate–Continuing Education Class – Warrensburg
This class will cover editing tools and features, styles, inserting images, clip-art, word-art, tables and graphs in Word documents. Group activities and lessons will help familiarize participants with the application’s tools. The library will provide six devices. If you have Microsoft Word downloaded, feel free to bring your own device.

Friday, October 25 – 4:00-5:30 p.m.

Feel the Goosebumps – Odessa
Feel the prickly rising of bumps running up and down your spine as you watch Goosebumps 2 while devouring a gooey slime coated treat.
Age: Teen
Thursday, October 31 – 4:20 p.m.
