Trails Regional Library Launches Books By Mail Service

Trails Regional Library, through special funding from the Trails Regional Library Foundation, is launching a new Books By Mail service for homebound patrons. This service will allow library materials, including books, CD audiobooks, and DVDs, to be mailed to patrons who are unable to visit library branches. The program is limited to patrons with addresses within the Trails Regional Library district.

Program supplies and materials are generously provided by the Trails Regional Library Foundation. Postage for the program is free through the USPS, section 135, as long as patrons complete certification with a health professional.

Patrons participating in this program will have the opportunity to complete reading request forms to outline their material preferences. Library staff selectors will choose materials based on these patron preferences and prepare the items for delivery. Shipments will be sent twice monthly with extended loan periods to accommodate postal service. Return postage cards will be provided for patrons to conveniently send library materials back to Trails Regional Library through the mail.
Applications for the service are available at any Trails Regional Library branch location and can be mailed to prospective patrons by completing the form online at trailslibrary.org/booksbymail.
